So I’ve hinted at a major ‘thing’ happening in my life that has stopped me from doing a lot of things, namely blogging *grin* and writing. Well I can finally reveal what that something is.

I’m moving back to Sydney!!!!!!

Yep, Hubby’s work is moving us back and this year when we board the plane to go home for Christmas it’ll be for good. Well good as in so far as UPS decides it is. *grin* So there you have it, the big fat ugly time sucker that has consumed every waking and sleeping moment for the last few weeks. Between now and the first week in Feb next year my life is going to one big jumble of packing and unpacking. Ugh!

Right about now I could do with a time machine and yes I know it’s not nice to wish your life away but I really, really wish it was February NOW!!

Edited to add we leave Singapore on the 17th of December.

I got nothing! Well no exactly nothing but I haven’t had time to write that’s for sure. There are many things going on around here that keep distracting me. *sigh* I know, I need to make time but by the time I get around to thinking about it I’m exhausted. Got a bit of a break this afternoon only I didn’t manage a single word on the third book in the coyote series. I guess tomorrow is another day.

And because I don’t have much to say I’ll point you to the International Heat blog where Aussie author Sami Lee has stopped in for a chat. She has a new release out today with Samhain Publishing. Be sure to check out all her books as Ms. Lee writes them hawt! In fact I do believe that’s here latest hero calling me now. *grin* Excuse me while I go spend some time with Brody.

Oh my word have things been extremely busy round here. I know I’ve neglected the blog and yes I have a really good reason, I just can’t tell you all what it is yet. *grin* Maybe in a few more weeks but until then I’ll be the mad woman running around chasing her own ass.

I’d love to say my time has been taken up by writing but that would be a lie. Although… Coyote Home is finished AND submitted! Yay me! It’ll be a few weeks until I know anything and with everything going on that’s probably a good thing. I started Coyote Whispers (bk 3) and it’s coming along nicely plus I got a bit done on Coyote Lies, the 4th in the series. If all goes well the whole series should come out next year. Fingers crossed.

In other writing news I’ve started a series of ‘quickies’ about a strip club set in my home town of Sydney and I’m enjoying getting to play with the characters a lot. Should be fun but I don’t see myself getting the time to finish them before next year. With everything going on I’m lucky to get any writing time but…

Today is GET ORGANIZED DAY!!! Yep, I’m drawing up a plan. Nobody laugh, I know, I never follow the plan but in this case I’ll HAVE to. Otherwise I’ll be in all sorts of bother by the end of the year. Do you know how close that is?? Jeez. I haven’t even thought about Christmas yet. I’m thinking I might postpone it. Any objections to that? No? Good. Christmas is now postponed until further notice. (sshhhh… don’t let the kids hear. *grin*)

So I guess it’s back to organizing.

In the last 24 hours we’ve had two earth quakes hit below Indonesia which means us in Singapore get a little shaken, not stirred. Our building was built by a construction company from Hong Kong so they know all about making buildings bend and sway in gale force winds, therefore the whole building sways with the tremors. It’s kind of like being on a swing. Only a little less exciting. (I blogged about the first one HERE last night.)

All that excitement aside, I’ve been busy writing (a story I shouldn’t be working on of course) and getting things put together for the new yahoo group the International Heat members are starting. Heat Wave Readers will be where you can find lots of exclusive excerpts, release day parties and heaps of contests. Heat Wave Readers went live today, you can click on the little join button on the right (or the link I put under the name). We’re all really excited about this new venture and hope to see you there.

Over the month of October the members of International Heat have lined up some great contests for you. There is a major contest for every week, plus we’ll also be doing some random drop-in contests, so keep your eye open for those throughout the month as well.

The fine print:

Each week there will be a new MAJOR prize package available to win. Ebooks, banners, gift certificates, book covers. Each prize package will show you what is in that prize. What you see is what you get, so if you already own some of the books in the prize,  you’ll just have to enjoy the ones you don’t have yet. Of course if the prize is a choice of backlist, you’ll get to choose!

MINI contests will be announced throughout the week, and you’ll usually have a day to enter to win. Again, prizes as stated in the announcements.

There’s also a GRAND PRIZE--and WOW, it’s pretty awesome!–that will be drawn on November 1st during our  Heat Wave Beach Party.

I’m struggling with life at the moment, there’s stuff going on that needs my attention and it’s a great big time sucker! Ugh. I am getting words down though, and managing to do some reading (not much but still) for my CP’s. I finished Coyote Home last week and I’m waiting on one more feedback before tweaking it and sending it out. Coyote Wild will need some tweaking too and then there’s books 3 & 4 to write. Heaps to do before I’m finished playing in that shifter world. I just need to find the time to do it.

I started a new story and so far I think it’s going well. It’s a quickie so I should have it done by the end of the week, toes crossed. (I need my fingers to type. *grin*) It’s the first in a series set in a strip club. I’m looking forward to playing with these characters, they’re proving to be fun already. I’m really liking a secondary character, she’s spunky and has some serious history that needs to be explored so she won’t get her own book for a while. For now I’ll concentrate on Harley and Todd.

So I’ve been having issues with our family blog for months now. On and off it’ll let me add pix but lately it’s been completely off! *pout* Anyway, today I ended up getting Son#1 to upload google chrome in a bit to solve what has been a constant battle with any blogger blog over the last few months. I’m liking the look and the ease with which I’m getting to know all the in’s and out’s. I’m very pleased to say I’m happy with it so far. Did it fix my blogger issues? Ah, no. LOL That turned out to be an problem with our internet provider, BUT I did go onto the blogger forum and discover I wasn’t the only one with the problem. I also found out how to fix it! *grin* AND I fixed it! *very big grin* Then I fixed the issue I had with picasa not uploading pix to blogger. I got brave you see. THEN I decided there was no time like the present to try tweetdeck. I’m impressed with my level of skill so far today. I’m still tweaking the tweetdeck but hell, I think I’ve got it all under conrtol. For now anyway. LOL

On the writing front I’ve been dragging the words out for days now and it doesn’t look like they want to come easy anytime soon. *sigh* It’s Firday evening here and I’m not sure what our plans are for the weekend but I do know Monday is a public hol and The Kid has Tuesday and Wednesday off too!! I’ll need something to distract him with. Any suggestions? I could always take Mini-stud down to the cable ski park and let him wakeboard for hours. Win, win I think.

Okay, back to playing with my new toys and maybe some writing.

Yeah, I’m procrastinating. But I’m doing a good job. *grin* I’m still fiddling with the decor around here so don’t be surprised if new things pop up and old things disappear. Hopefully I won’t make the WHOLE blog disappear. LOL

Life is seriously cramping my writing time. The Kid took off for school camp yesterday, Hubby went to Bangkok for work and my mother arrives tomorrow for a week. I’ve got a lunch date with the people from K12 (the Princesses home school program) tomorrow as well. I’m not sleeping very well but can’t seem to focus on any one thing long enough to get something done. I’m also wrestling with a decision that is long overdue. I’ve been putting it off out of nostalgia I think. Not good. Priorities!

On the writing front, Coyote Home is coming along slowly, what with the butt not being in the chair and the life I seem to have the longest stretch of writing time was the 8 hour flight to Sydney last week. There’s one scene that’s been giving me grief and I’ve finally charged through it so we can move on. I’m not happy with it but that’s what the edit process is for.

I’ve got a lovely wip from Lexxie Couper to read, that’ll be my bedtime book tonight. She needs my expert (*snort*) opinion in the next day. I’ve already read this story and I love it but Lexxie has made some changes and added a bit to the word count. Can’t wait to get back into it tonight.

Still no word on when Singapore Fling will be out. Hopefully I’ll get some sort of info soon. *grin*

Well life hit with a bang. Yep, that pesky thing has taken over and I’ve had no time to do what I want. Write!! *sigh* I’m getting there. I’ve got a few things in the works and there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

I’m starting a new regular post called Spotlight Sunday where I’ll be blogging about one of my fellow International Heat members. First up is our newest member Jayne Rylon, so pop back tomorrow and check out Jayne.

I’m beating Princess and the Pea over the head with a stick about school work. This will be the death of me I’m sure.

Today is my 21st wedding anniversary. Yes I know, I look way too young to have been married that long. (I wish! LOL) Anyway, hubby got me THE best pressies ever!

He had some photos of our recent US trip blown up and framed, plus a print we bought when in the US last year with the Tribe. BUT the best pressie is the huge HAND PAINTED replica of my first book cover!!! OMG! It’s gorgeous! I love it! I LOVE HIM!!!

After 21 years the man still rocks my world. I’d be lost without him and I thank my lucky stars every day that I have him in my life.

I got home yesterday minus one bag. *sigh* It has all my clothes in it. But don’t worry, I’m not sitting her naked (although it is hot enough) but I’m not overly impressed with my clothing options. I think it’s time for some new stuff. Anyway, I’m told this morning that my bag has finally made it to Singapore and should be delivered before lunch today. It would be nice because there are a couple of other things in there as well. Hairbrush, fave perfume, GIFTS!!!, stuff I picked up at RT and LF, AND all my shoes!! I’ve never been a girly girl and I have a limited selection of shoes which at the present moment are in the missing bag. Good thing I love being barefoot. The only reason I’m so reasonable and calm is that I brought ALL my signed books back with me in my carry-on luggage. Thank God! Hubby says it’s a good thing otherwise there would have been murder committed at 2am in Changi ariport. And I have to say he’s right. LOL

So what’s in the days ahead? Catch up for a start. My babies have all grown. The Kid, OMG! He’s like two inches taller and now talks with his almost grown up deep voice. HE’S TWELVE PEOPLE!!! Princess One is her usual organized self, Son#1 is hard at work and university (getting great grades), Lady in Waiting is also busy with uni work and Princess and the Pea is hurdling the dramas of teenage life with style. Damn I feel so old. LOL

Writing is on the cards, I’m a fifth of the way through the first shifter story and the third has also been worked on a bit. I’m aiming for finishing both first drafts by the end of the month. It’s doable. I finished Singapore Fling while in the US and it’s now on the editors desk, fingers crossed she likes it. Saxon turned out to be a pain and the word count went way over where I was aiming but it’s all good in the end. I hope. I’ve blogged at International Heat over the last few weeks so if you want to see some of what I’ve been up to go HERE.

Well I guess I better get onto that writing. The end of June is fast approaching.
